Atlas Telecom Mobile launches an international text message
base payment solution for Internet content
MONTREAL, March 13, 2003 -
Atlas Telecom Mobile today announced the launching of SMS Kambi,
a new micropayment solution for adult websites. SMS Kambi is a new
secure and simple way for over 200 million mobile subscribers to pay
for Internet content.
The concept is simple: the mobile subscriber sends a text message to
a specific number advertised on a web site and the SMS-Kambi application
returns a text message with a password valid for a predefined time or content.
A premium charge is then billed to the mobile phone account or deducted
from the prepaid account.
"This new payment solution is very interesting for website owners
looking for payment alternatives for clientele with no credit cards
or are uncomfortable to using them on the Internet. There are no
risks, no investments, no minimum transaction fees for website owners
as the Atlas Telecom Mobile model is based on revenue sharing between
Mobile Network Operators and website owners.\u201D commented Paul Forostowsky,
president and CEO of Atlas Telecom Mobile.
The SMS Kambi solution is already used by American Adult websites to
get a 2 euros access, and get 30 minutes web content to European customers.
